Watch: Future Climate Now

Our Community, Our Stories

Pajaro Valley is home to wetlands, sloughs, agricultural lands, and coastal areas that shape our daily lives. Climate change is affecting these places—through flooding, drought, and shifting ecosystems—and the people who know these changes best are the ones who live here.

We're creating a space where community members can share their observations, experiences, and stories about our local environment. Whether you've noticed changes in the sloughs, experienced flooding, or have memories of how our landscape used to look, your voice matters.

Student-Led Documentation

Through our new partnership with the Pajaro Valley Unified School District (PVUSD), UCSC, and The Center for the Study of the Force Majeure (CFM), students are learning to document environmental changes using photos, videos, and interviews that connect nature to their families' livelihoods.

Community Voices

We're partnering with the local organizations to host bilingual screenings and neighborhood conversations where everyone can share their stories.

Building Solutions Together

By bringing together student work and community experiences, we're creating a grounded, local dialogue about wetlands, flooding, and nature-based solutions.
